Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late wildlife expert and TV personality Steve Irwin, steadily gained popularity on season 21 of the reality show “Dancing With the Stars.” For her finale performance, she delivered a moving tribute to her father, featuring a segment in which she walked next to his footprints in the sand. Irwin’s emotional performance received a perfect score from the judges and ultimately led her to be crowned the winner of the latest season of “Dancing With the Stars.”
For both competing in and winning the competition (with partner Derek Hough) Irwin is expected to take home an estimated $360,000, according to AOL News. However, the young woman told a TMZ reporter that she would be donating the money instead of keeping it. “Everything that I make goes straight back to wildlife conservation,” she told TMZ. “It’s wonderful. It’s who we are.” Steve Irwin, star of “The Crocodile Hunter” show, and his wife Terri founded the conservation organization Wildlife Warriors in 2002.
“No matter where I go, Dad will always be with me,” Bindi said on “DWTS” before her final performance. “I wish that he could fully understand how much he’s done for me and that I miss him.”
