This is a story of American heroism in the face of hardship, and it’s one that everyone should see… especially dog lovers
In 2013, a group of American soldiers encountered a sick, pregnant dog on a remote base in Afghanistan. Sgt. Edwin Caba and his fellow soldiers immediately bonded with her. She went on patrols with them, and waited every night for their safe return. They named her Sheba, and when she got pregnant, the soldiers knew her life and her puppies lives were in danger. Sheba was starving.
Instead of keeping their food for themselves, the men started giving Sheba and her seven pups their own rations. They bathed them, swaddled them, and loved them like their own. Sgt. Caba knew he couldn’t leave Afghanistan without taking the dogs with him. Operation Puppy Rescue commenced, and thus began an amazing journey of determination and triumph.
