Home remedies may seem promising, but many do not work, or are based on unsubstantiated and false information.

For example, there is a remedy that states that if you have a cold to stick orange peels up your nose and run in circles under a chestnut tree.  It is true that vitamin C helps with colds which runs strong in oranges, but the rest of that dance certainly does not help much.

1.) Mouthwash For Feet

The anti-bacterial properties of mouth wash can really help your feet out! If you have any type of toenail or foot fungus, just soak them in some of this great antibacterial fluid and your woes will be gone!

2.) Black Tea For Sunburns

If you have a burnt area of skin, don’t worry, just grab some black tea.  wet the tea bags, and then apply pressure on them to your skin in the burned areas.  The antioxidants in the tea will sooth your burns away.

3.) Apple Cider Vinegar For Sore Throat

Just gargle a few times and hour with water for the maximum effect.  No expensive cough syrup needed!

4.) Mint For Drowsiness

The smell of mint is a known aromatherapy method for waking people up, and helping them start their day right.  Do this with mint tea, or just by smelling some mint leaves.

5.) Baking Soda For Heartburn

Heartburn is just when the pH level of your stomach is too high, and you feel an acidic burn in your trachea.  Use this recipe to bring the pH of your digestive system down:

6.) Hydrogen Peroxide For Earaches

Take some 3% hydrogen peroxide, and flush it down your ear if you have an ache.  It will itch and bubble for a minute, but will kill any nasty bacteria that is causing your discomfort.

7.) Honey For Wounds

Honey has long been known to have healing properties.  Applying a small amount to a cut can really expedite the healing process.  Be careful to only use raw honey though, as processed honey has been heated drastically, thus eliminating all healing proprieties.

8.) Baking Soda For Bee Stings

If you got stung, just use some baking soda to normalize the sting.

9.) Vapo Rub For Toenail Fungus

There is an ingredient in Vapo Rub that prevents fungi from growing.  If you have toenail fungus, just rub some of this compound onto your nail, and stick a sock on to never see that fungus again!

10.) Milk Of Magnesia For Canker Sores

Canker sores are painful open sores in the mouth.  If you get one, mix Benadryl and some milk of magnesia and rinse with the two to rid yourself of the painful sore.

11.) Super Glue For Cuts

The same ingredients in hospital glue are found in super glue as well!  You can use it to seal up cuts that might need to be help together.

12.) Cranberry Juice For Urinary Tract Infections

Cranberries have long been known to help with urinary tract infections.  Drink some cranberry juice that is all natural to help if you or your child gets one.

13.) Duct Tape For Warts

Duct tape really does help with warts!  Place it over your wart, and the tape will suffocate the wart to help it die.
