In the Current Job Market, Unique Body Modifications Pose Challenges for Job Seekers
In today’s competitive job market, securing employment has become increasingly difficult as companies often have strict qualifications for prospective hires. A key requirement is maintaining a presentable appearance, especially for roles involving client-facing interactions.
Yet, one individual encountered significant obstacles in his job search due to his extensive tattooed skin and body modifications. Aspiring to resemble a black alien-like creature, his distinct appearance made it challenging to find suitable employment opportunities.
French Man “The Black Alien” Undertakes Extensive Transformation Journey
As per a report by NDTV, Anthony Loffredo, also known as “The Black Alien,” embarked on a remarkable journey to achieve his desired appearance. He underwent numerous procedures from head to toe in pursuit of his goal.
A Channel 4 documentary released in 2023 showcased Loffredo’s astounding transformation. He had his nose, ears, and two fingers amputated, along with body implants to create an extraterrestrial-like texture. Even his tongue was split into two and colored with ink. Not stopping there, Loffredo almost completely covered his body, including his eyeballs, with tattoos.
During the documentary, Loffredo shared old photos of himself, with the host praising his previous good looks. However, Loffredo remained resolute, stating that he felt more content and comfortable with his body modifications than he did before.
He revealed that despite appearing “strong” and handsome in the past, he didn’t feel aligned with his true self, leading to inner dissatisfaction. At the time of the interview, despite already looking drastically different from his former self, Loffredo declared that he had only completed 46 percent of his transformation journey.
On July 17, 2023, he shared a side-by-side photo of his younger self together with an updated photo of his body modifications on his official Instagram account. He told his followers that he was already at 57% of his goal look.
“Everyone is free, everyone has their convictions. The story continues,” he wrote in the caption.
Some users expressed their thoughts on his transformation, and many of them pointed out that his mother must be disappointed in him.
However, he said in the documentary that he kept in touch with his mom and would text her every single day. Regarding his parents’ reaction to his transformation, Loffredo recalled one Christmas day early on when they looked at him “in a weird way” for 15 minutes, but they later accepted him, especially his mom.
Despite him being happy with his look, his overall appearance has hindered him from getting a job.
Loffredo spoke with the Club 113 podcast in 2022, and he told the hosts, “I can’t find a job, there’s lots of negative stuff. It could be positive because you feel better but you have to know there’s also a dark side.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, he noted that the public’s perception of him also changed when he started transforming as he suffered from discrimination.
“Yes… Bad looks, insults in restaurants, people on the sidewalk,” he added.
Regarding his goal of achieving the entire black alien look, Loffredo projected that his transformation would be completed by 2029.
Unfortunately, there were also comments on his social media profiles that were so negative to the point that some commenters sent him death threats.
But despite the negativity, Loffredo told the hosts that he refused to argue with them online.
