This dying 54 year-old, known to the world as Mario, spent most of his life working at theDiergaarde Blijdorp zoo in Rotterdam, Holland. He cleaned the enclosures of the animals, becoming very close to them throughout the years. When he learned that he was dying, he had one final wish: to visit the zoo.

The Ambulance Wish Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping terminal patients achieve their dreams, helped him out.

Even animals know when it’s time to say goodbye. Mario was so lucky to be able to see all of his loved ones, human and otherwise, before he passed on.

This moment was incredibly touching. Share it with others.
