By their ninth month of pregnancy, most women are more than ready to give birth. The last few weeks leading up to the introduction to their bundle(s) of joy can be quite uncomfortable – legs and feet are swollen, the urge to use the restroom is near-constant and it’s almost impossible to find a position that allows for comfortable sleep. If you asked a women who’s recently given birth how much longer she could have endured being pregnant, it’s highly likely that the answer is: “No longer!”
These women will feel sympathy, then, for the dolphin shown giving birth in the video below. Dolphins have an average gestation period of twelve months – a full trimester longer than a human pregnancy! It’s a miracle that this dolphin’s birth was caught on camera – and we’re sure you’ll agree once you’ve watched it. Let us know what you think in the comments, and share this footage of the miracle of life with your friends on Facebook!
