Alex, a 9-year-old boy from Michigan has loved horses since the age of 2. It came as no surprise when Alex chose to meet the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales as his wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In 2011, Alex’s wish became a reality when he rode the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch around Busch Stadium as part of the St. Louis Cardinals’ opening day ceremony. As the overhead speakers played “Here Comes The King,” the little boy proudly waved behind the majestic horses as the crowd stood and cheered. With a beaming smile, Alex waved to baseball fans, family, and friends — taking in every moment of the lap around the field. I can’t imagine how exciting and surreal this moment was for this brave little boy. For the past 30 years, the famous Budweiser Clydesdales have been a staple in American tradition and pop culture.

From the fact the horses have individual fans and windows in their transport vehicles, to putting a safety harness on the Dalmatian, proves the company’s pride in the details and care for the animals.

Later, Alex told his mom: “It was the best day ever.” Thank you to Anheuser-Busch and the Make A Wish Foundation for making this boy’s wish come true.
