In 2011 Alex Pelling and Lisa Gant from the UK decided to tie the knot and get married. But wedding planning brings up a lot of questions, the biggest of which is the location. Where is the best place in the world to get married?
Determined to find an answer to that question, Alex and Lisa decided to pack up their things and go on an adventure of a lifetime by exchanging vows in the most unusual and unique wedding locations they could find. Before heading out on this search for wedding bliss the couple sold Alex’s motor repair business along with a lot of their possessions.
As of this year they have travelled in their 27 year old camper van named Peggy to more than 50 Countries and exchanged vows in 60 or so different locations, embracing the culture and local traditions of each place they visit.
Here are 23 photos from their wedding ceremonies:
Joining Alex and Lisa in their romantic quest to find the perfect wedding location have been Zulu chiefs, pastors, vicars, shamans, rabbis and even a Voodoo priestess at one point. Not to mention an army of wedding photographers and wedding professionals who have all donated their time and skills to this voyage of discovery.
