When we have children it seems like a never ending cycle of waking up and taking care of them, waking up and taking care of them. It’s an endless grind until they are old enough to care for themselves. The freedom that we enjoy are no more, tiredness is second nature and there seems to never to be a break. However, like anything else in this world, it will come to an end.
There will be a day when they won’t need us anymore. A day when they are big enough and they don’t want you to put them to sleep or read them a bed time story.
Will you miss doing these things? A child only stays a child for so long until they are an adult. Here is a mother’s poem telling us to enjoy these things because like I’ve said, all things will come to an end. And when they do end, only memories are left.
For those of us who are parents of young children now, I recommend you read this poem one more time because I know that having children is hard. It takes a toll on our body, but don’t let that bring you down. Enjoy every day in the fleeting moment and remember that one day it will end. We will reminisce about these memories and will wish for that one last time.
