Pittsburgh police detective Jack Mook is a committed bachelor, and in his free time, he volunteers at the Steel City Boxing Gym teaching the sport to underprivileged kids. That’s how he met brothers Josh, 15, and Jesse, 11. But when the pair abruptly stopped showing up to the gym, Mook decided to go looking for them.
That’s when he found the older brother and realized at that moment just how bad these boys had it. Mook learned the young boys were in a foster home with parents whom the officer claims were abusive and neglectful. He knew what he had to do and had the young brothers placed in his home.
After being their foster parent for two years, Mook took the next step and officially adopted them. He says it’s the best decision he’s ever made in his life. How amazing!
