If you used to watch the The Carol Burnett Show, then you know this hilarious skit by heart. It’s one of the funniest late-night sketches in television history! The camera follows Tim Conway and Harvey Korman as they sit down as a dentist and patient for an appointment that ends with Tim accidentally numbing an entire side of his body.
As they act their way through the routine, Harvey can’t keep his laughter down. Instead, he burst out laughing several times – it was just too darn funny!
Now Tim revealed that there was more to the skit than anyone ever knew…
As millions of fans can attest, The Carol Burnett Show was one of the most iconic late-night shows during the 1970s. Carol’s incredible eye for comedy and the talented supporting cast – Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Lyle Waggoner and Vicki Lawrence – made it a smash hit.
In fact, Carol received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2003 and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2013. Her comedic genius touched the hearts of countless Americans and cemented her place in television history forever.
Despite their many successes, there was one act that stood out more than the others. During a recent interview with Conan O’Brien, Tim was asked about the famous “dentist sketch” and the hilarity that ensued.
That’s when Tim revealed his costar couldn’t keep his giggling down and actually did something rather embarrassing from laughing so hard!
“Korman wet himself during the sketch!”
Tim explained that this was perfect because he had just opened a laundromat and his staff made a few bucks after the incident!
Even though late-night shows are funny nowadays, nothing can compare with classic sketches like this! Do you remember watching this sketch live on The Carol Burnett Show?
