When the Riverdance group took the stage to perform this routine, the audience could not have known that they were about to see a performance that they would never forget!

The Riverdance group was started back in 1994, when it was created by Irish dancing champions Jean Butler and Michael Flatley. Since then, the group has become an unstoppable force that has traveled all over the world wowing audiences with their performances.

Though each Riverdance troupe has their own unique styles, most of the break offs still hold the name of famous Irish rivers like the Liffey, Lee, Lagan, Avoca, Shannon, Boyne, Corrib, Foyle, Moy and Bann. This tradition helps to remind everyone of where this dance style came from, and that the Celtic spirits are always watching over the dancers.

In the video below, you’ll see the dancers high-step, tap, and twirl around the stage, making their intricate moves look effortless. The video opens with just male dancers on the stage, but it is not long before female dancers join them.

Drums are also incorporated into the routine in a way that makes it even more powerful.

Eventually, a male dancer performs an intricate solo, and he is quickly joined by a female dancer. Then, the rest of the troupe returns to the stage to finish off the performance together!

Video of the Riverdance performance has quickly gone viral, being viewed over one million times!

“Fantastic musical and dance performance!” one social media user wrote, with another adding, “Wow! What is there not to love about this?!”

Check out the performance for yourself in the video below!
