Talent comes in many forms, shapes and ages, as 90-year old Dorothy Williams showed the  “America’s Got Talent” audiences. The Hilo, Hawaii resident who said she always dreamed of being a star strutted her stuff in a provocative burlesque act, complete with gyrations and tassel swings. It made her a golden ticket star.

“I love you,” said judge Howie Mandel. “I love the message. You are a great example. You are inspiring. I think that you should become a star and I’m so glad that you’re here.” However, it was host Nick Cannon, usually confined to the wings, that gave the highest praise and an unconventional Golden Buzzer sending Williams to the live rounds.
According to TV Guide, Cannon’s move indeed broke protocol for the show, but nobody seemed to care and celebrated with the dancer as golden confetti rained down upon her. The TV Guide article continued that Williams began dancing at the age of 17 – before the U.S. even recognized Hawaii as a state.
“I kind of wanted a longer song to see where this is going to end up,” Cowell said in his post-performance remarks. Thanks to Cannon’s unusual move, Cowell – and all “America’s Got Talent” viewers – will see more of Williams’ dancing, if not more skin.
Share this inspiring and jaw-dropping performance that’s creating a huge and a bit naughty buzz.
