They may not have a lot, but a homeless couple living in Tampa Bay, FL, is happy to have each other.

The couple, who has been together for over two decades, has called a small part of the woods their home for more than two years. As you’ll see below, they have a bed, a table, pots and pans, and even a little pooch.

“We’ve done so much hitchhiking and traveling, and we’ve stuck together,” David “Rocky” Bartlett told the Tampa Tribune. “We’re both 55 years old, she’s sick, I have a heart condition, but for some reason, we just keep going.”

Now they also desire to tie the knot and make a new start. But Bartlett and his longtime companion, Evelyn Adams, couldn’t afford to pay Florida’s $93.50 charge for a marriage license.

Thankfully, the homeless liaison officer from the Tampa Police Department stepped in to help the couple out (similarly to the one in California who bought a homeless teen shoes).

With Officer Dan McDonald’s help, a charitable organization has agreed to pay for the wedding license, while a photographer also offered to take pictures of the couple on their wedding day.

“I think they deserve that after what they’ve been through,” Officer McDonald told ABC Action News.
