A Baby Deer Ran Up To A Great Dane… But You Won’t Believe The Big Dog’s Reaction!

Nature never ceases to amaze me. Maybe it’s all the cartoons I grew up with — Wiley Coyote chasing the Roadrunner, Tom chasing Jerry, and even Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny — that have convinced me most animals are mortal enemies rather than friends.

Then I realized that those cartoons were fiction. But the fact is there’s plenty of evidence that shows that animals behave totally differently around each other than what we often assume.

Take for instance this lion who would rather play with a wildebeest than eat it, or this one who nurtured a baby baboon after realizing it was helpless without its mother.

While it may seem natural that animals attack each other because human beings all too often fall into that reckless pattern, I think what many animals prove is that it’s equally as natural, if not more so, that we embrace one another.

Once an animal realizes a potential threat is gone, there’s no telling what kind of bonds they are open to.

When a young fawn, abandoned by her mother, entered the backyard of Kate, a gorgeous black Great Dane, it seemed that at best they’d be frightened of one another, and at worst things could become violent.

However, what really happened was…well, you’ll just have to see in the video below.
