Bad Bunny faced scrutiny after appearing to remain seated during “God Bless America” at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night during a playoff matchup between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays, according to reports.
TMZ Sports first obtained a photo showing the Grammy-winning artist seated about three rows behind home plate with friends, while fans around them stood, some with hands over their hearts.
A video shared by the outlet appeared to capture the crowd singing in unison, “guide her,” while Bad Bunny remained seated.
Fox News Digital reached out to Bad Bunny’s agency and the Yankees for comment.
An AI analysis of the photo did not raise any concerns.
The Puerto Rican artist has been thrust into the national spotlight since being announced as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LV. His recent comments on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have also drawn attention.
Bad Bunny appeared to remain seated as fans sang along to “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch.
In September, he explained that he avoided booking U.S. tour dates due to concerns that his fans could be detained by ICE agents.
“But there was the issue of — like, f–king ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,” he told i-D.
Earlier in June, he recorded and shared video on social media showing what he described as local ICE raids in Puerto Rico.
Yankee players lined up along the first-base line during the National Anthem before Game 3 of the ALDS on October 7, 2025, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
Speaking in Spanish, Bad Bunny referenced ICE activity in Puerto Rico: “Look, those motherf–kers are in these cars, RAV-4s. They’re here in Pontezuela,” referring to the Avenida Pontezuela in Carolina, a city east of San Juan.
He added, “Sons of bitches, instead of leaving the people alone and working there.”
