Nearly two years after their separation, Hugh Jackman’s estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, has officially filed for divorce and has spoken out for the first time in a candid, heartfelt statement.
“My heart and compassion go out to anyone who has endured the painful journey of betrayal,” Deborra-Lee shared with the Daily Mail. “It’s a deep wound that leaves lasting scars. Still, I trust in a higher power—whether you call it God, the universe, or your own inner guidance—that it is always working in our favor. That belief has carried me through the collapse of a marriage that spanned nearly 30 years. This experience has taught me a great deal and offered profound wisdom. Even in the face of adversity, I believe we are being led toward our highest good and true purpose. While the process can be painful, ultimately, coming back to yourself—and living in alignment with your own integrity, values, and boundaries—is a path to true freedom.”
Deborra-Lee continued by sharing one of the most powerful lessons she’s taken from this chapter of her life: “The one thing I’ve truly come to understand is that none of this is personal,” she said. “We are all on our own individual journeys. I believe the relationships we form are never random—we’re drawn to people and welcome them into our lives to help us grow, to face our wounds, and to heal the broken parts of ourselves. For that, I remain deeply grateful.”
