Viral tales explores the effects of dipping dish soap in milk in this super simple and easy science experiment.

For this trick, you will need:
– 1 bottle of milk
– 1 bowl
– 1 q-tip cotton swab
– 1 dish soap container
– 1 set of food coloring

In the video below, when the dish soap and milk mix, an interesting color burst effect occurs. This reaction happens as a result of surface tension. Cool Science states, “The surface of the milk outside the soap drop has a higher surface tension, so it pulls the surface away from that spot. The food coloring moves with the surface, streaming away from the soap drop.”

The best part of this experiment? A quick, cheap, and easy way to teach someone science.
