In a day and age where discord is more common than understanding, it’s important to remember that there are still positive interactions that occur between strangers. Fortunately, that’s exactly what Heather Leigh saw while out for a lunch with friends and she thought to share it with the world as a great reminder to us all!
The photo she snapped at that lunch is now going viral and it’s a wonderful thing to see…
Heather and her four loved ones were out to lunch at the popular Mt. Clemens Grill, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan when the waiting area started to get packed! It seemed as though everyone in the city wanted to munch on the restaurant’s tasty American food.
While the waiting area became more and more full, Heather noticed a heartwarming interaction between a young man already sat at a table and an elderly woman waiting for one.
Heather shared what she saw with the Love What Matters Facebook page:
“So we were out to lunch and it was super crowded. There were quite a few groups of people at the door waiting to be seated and then there was this lady who was alone.
Out of nowhere, this young man gets up and walks up to the lady and says, ‘I have three empty seats at my table, would you like to sit with me so you don’t have to wait?'”
“Cue the four of us at our table with our hearts MELTING as he ushers her over to his table and pulls out the chair next to him, not across from him, to sit down. Periodically while we ate, we looked over to see them alternately sitting quietly and chatting with ease.
With all the ridiculousness happening in our country, it was nice to see and be reminded that there are still good people out there.”
What Heather saw that afternoon was something that all of us need to keep in mind in the future! We are all human and it doesn’t hurt to show strangers a little kindness – especially our elders!
In the days since Heather shared the post online, it’s been shared more than 2,000 times and liked by more than 35,000 users. It’s clear people from all over the world understand how important it is to be kind to strangers!
