Like many pet owners, Kelly and Ted refer to their dog, Bear, as their child. Years back, the George couple rescued Bear and the family became inseparable. But two years ago, the unthinkable happened.
Bear was in the car when Ted accidentally rear-ended another driver. The sudden accident startled Bear so much that the dog took off and ran straight into the woods. Bear disappeared. Ted spent 12 hours searching for his beloved dog. He combed the area, enlisted the help of friends, and did anything he could to try and find him. But weeks turned into months, and months turned into years. All the while, Kelly and Ted never gave up hope that they’d one day be reunited with Bear.
In the meantime, two women had been keeping a stray dog fed for an entire year — but he would never let them get close enough to be caught. One day, the ladies decided to build the dog a pen, which they hoped would trap him. Keep in mind, these women are not professional animal rescuers — just kindhearted humans on a mission to rescue a dog in need.
