While all gymnasts exhibit incredible physical and mental strength, there are always certain gymnasts that stand out from the others. They are unmistakably talented, but possess this certain unforgettable quality.
Daria Kondakova is a Russian rhythmic gymnast and three-time silver medalist in the World Cup. Born in Sochi, Russia, Daria stood out from all others at a young age.
As a junior competitor, she won a gold medal at the 2006 Holon Junior Grand Prix and Calais International tournament. Her success only advanced from there.
She was part of the Russian national gymnast group in 2008 and then moved on to her first successful senior season in 2009, which resulted in her first all-around silver medal in the World Championships. From there, Daria went on to win the 2010 and 2011 all-around silver medal in the clubs, hoop, ribbon and ball, marking three consecutive years as the silver medalist.
Daria’s sheer talent and devotion to the sport is very apparent in all of her performances. She simply sparkles when she’s on the mat.
In the video below, Daria takes the stage at the 2011 World Championships in Montpellier, France. She dazzles the judges in a gold uniform with a shiny gold ball.
She begins her routine with her back on the ball and quickly jolts up as the music starts, beginning her stunning choreography. Her routine is incredible and showcases her rare talent.
