He’s Had 40 Surgeries To Look Like A Ken Doll, But After Taking A Vacation He Says “Never Again”

A Brazilian man is finally giving up on his addiction to plastic surgery, and it only took his nose falling off to convince him.

After more than forty plastic surgeries, the “Human Ken Doll,” as he is referred to in the media, is finally hanging up his surgical gown for good after developing a potentially deadly infection.

Thirty three year old Rodrigo Alves has undergone forty three plastic surgeries and a remarkable transformation, albeit one that has many people asking why.

After his sixth nose job, his body rejected the tissue used in the procedure and he developed necrosis, a terrifying complication where the tissue dies and rots. The unfortunate turn occurred while he was on holiday in Spain.

While vacationing in April, he developed a hole in his nose. Alves was rushed to a hospital in Malaga where doctors diagnosed the necrosis. Necrosis is a condition that causes the tissue to die due to a lack of blood supply. In Alves’s case this was due to six rhinoplasty surgeries.

The emergency room doctor informed him that the condition could lead to gangrene and require the amputation of his nose to save his face. After some additional consultation, He underwent a seventh rhinoplasty surgery to save his nose. The procedure involved using tissue and cartilage from his wrist to reinforce his nose and took an astounding ten hours.

Since this latest surgery, Alves has vowed not to go under the knife again unless it is for a non cosmetic procedure. To date, he has spent almost seven hundred thousand dollars on cosmetic surgeries, not including the seventy five thousand dollar emergency room visit in April.

Of the plastic surgeries, he now says, “I’ve decided to make most of the treatments that do not involve surgery, and I would only have another plastic surgery again if it was for emergency medical reasons which was the recent case of my nose. But I’ve not stopped having aesthetic treatments, there are so many non-invasive treatments on the market that can replace surgery.”

After the recent medical scare concerning his nose, the London based surgery addict has insured his body for one million pounds (about two million dollars).

His obsession with looking young does seem to be almost pathological, as he went on to say “I’m not giving up on trying to stop the natural aging process. Lately I have been trying everything, I’ve had Radiofrequency therapy and cavitation in my back and legs.”

And the list of non invasive procedures sounds as bizarre as his willingness to undergo the knife. “I’m due to have more hair implants soon, and I’ve had an injection of stem cells in my blood and the latest Lipoglaze fat-freezing technology on my thighs, hips and waist. I want to look nice in my swimming trunks. This really bothers me, even after having liposuction there is something that I need contouring and I don’t want to have liposuction ever again.”
