John Mellencamp is facing a devastating reality.
Teddi Mellencamp shared that her iconic father has begun making burial plans as she fights Stage 4 cancer.
The 43-year-old former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star revealed on Tuesday’s episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast that the 73-year-old rock legend called her “11 times in a row” to talk about the grim topic.
“He said, ‘Well, there will be the top five, and then we’ll have little areas around it, and that’s where everyone will be buried,’” Teddi shared.
When Teddi asked her dad if she needed to make that decision right away, she said the “Hurts So Good” singer responded, “You’re doing your will now, so you might as well include it.”
Teddi confirmed to co-host Tamra Judge that she agreed to John’s suggestion and mentioned she’d have to travel to Indiana to visit her grave. She also joked that she’d have “hot girls never die” engraved on her tombstone.
In February, Teddi revealed that multiple tumors had been found in her brain, leading to surgery where four large tumors were removed.
The next month, Teddi shared that doctors had discovered additional tumors in her brain and lungs.
“I will always fight to be my best and look for ways to smile and enjoy life,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Thank you for joining me on this journey. I’m not in a place for negativity or discouragement.”
In an interview with Us Weekly last week, Teddi expressed that she is “fighting for my life.”
“This is definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever faced, but it feels less difficult now,” she explained. “When I was in the ICU, it was incredibly tough because I had no memory. One day, I realized it was my daughter’s birthday, and I couldn’t be there for it; that was really sad. It’s still sad when I can’t be there for my kids the way I normally would.”

Teddi also shared that it was her estranged husband who informed her dad about her health condition.
“I didn’t expect my entire family to be here within 24 hours, but by the time I got out of surgery, everyone was here. My dad hates LA, so the fact that he stayed for 18 days—wow, that says a lot,” she said.
Teddi also shared about John, “He calls every day to check on me. Some days, I’m not in the mood and don’t want a pep talk. I’ll tell him, ‘I’ll talk to you tomorrow, I’ll be more pep talk-ready, but I love you.’”
