A Los Angeles woman’s birthday trip to Cancun turned into a nightmare after she fell from a bridge during an ATV ride, nearly resulting in paralysis.
Nina Bakhshi sustained severe fractures to her spine and neck following the terrifying accident on a remote ATV trail in Mexico.
Disturbing cellphone footage captured the moment Bakhshi plunged from the bridge, while her boyfriend can be heard screaming for her immediately after she hit the ground.

Rescuers reportedly strapped her to a board and carried her for about 30 minutes through the remote area, but Bakhshi said an ambulance never arrived.
She was then transported by truck to two separate hospitals, where doctors allegedly demanded 420,000 Mexican pesos (about $24,000) before providing treatment, according to KTLA.
“The worst part of the fall was getting to the surgery,” Bakhshi said. “There were so many obstacles.”
