If you’ve ever looked after a small baby, you’ll know exactly how tough it really is.
Then, picture taking said baby overseas on a plane. Some readers might already have done so. In which case you’ll be well aware of how difficult that flight can be.
One new mom definitely expected this when she boarded a plane that was bound all the way across the world. Concerned that her little one might upset fellow passengers, this mom decided to take action. What she did has gone completely viral.
One passenger, Dave Corona, was seated on the plane, headed for San Francisco from Seoul. The plane was going to take 10 hours, with hardly any vacant seats available.
On boarding, Dave spied a baby and young mother. He fully expected a tiring, long ride full of screaming. But he wasn’t ready for a goody bag in his chair when he reached it.
In this bag, Dave found a set of earplugs and a selection of sweets from Korea. Next, to it, a note that would break anybody’s heart.
The note said: “Hello, I’m Junwoo and I’m 4 months old. Today I’m going to the U.S. with my mom and grandma to see my aunt. I’m a little bit nervous and scary because it’s my first flight in my life, which means that I may cry or make too much noise. I will try to go quietly, though I can’t make any promises. Please excuse me. So my mom prepared little goodie bags for you! It has some candies and earplugs. Please use it when it’s too noisy because of me. Enjoy your trip. Thank you. :)”
Clearly, this was taken well by everybody on the flight. To be fair, most people wouldn’t put in so much effort just so others could have some peace. Especially if this meant making two hundred baggies for everybody on board.
As it turned out, Dave had a secret too. He happened to be working as a camera guy with a San Francisco TV company. He posted the tale on social media, where it attracted lots of interest. People all across the world were praising the young mom’s efforts. Even better? Nobody needed the earplugs, as the kid slept peacefully all through that flight!
Little acts of consideration make a big difference in the world. Just a small show of empathy for others around is often underrated, but it can have a ripple effect that goes much further.
