Aphoto of a little girl riding on the back of a motorcycle has recently gone viral. The picture was initially posted on a motorcycle group’s social media site where the two were praised for breaking the mold and riding together. As the video spread, it began to attract negative feedback from viewers who criticized the parents for allowing their child to ride on a motorcycle.
Unwilling to accept the criticism quietly, the mother of the child, Mallory Torres, has spoken out about why she feels comfortable allowing her daughter to ride on a motorcycle.
She said that although her daughter is only 7-years-old, she genuinely enjoys riding motorcycles.
Torres explained that she is a parent who loves her daughter and with that loves comes unwavering support for her daughter’s passions. It’s no different than parents supporting their children’s passion for sports.

She goes on to share that her boyfriend, the man driving the motorcycle, has over 20 years of experience riding bikes. They have also taken precautionary measures by ensuring that the girl is dressed appropriately to ride.

Torres began to point out the hypocrisy of many of her critics. She acknowledged that there are careless drivers on the road who could potentially injure her daughter, but then she points out that the same reality exists for parents who drive their children around in cars.

She even points the finger at parents who’ve changed the radio station or have looked down at their phone while behind the wheel when their children are in the car. Is that any safer than being on a motorcycle?

Torres refuses to keep her daughter from riding motorcycles regardless of the public outcry.

Her goal as a parent is to provide her children with stability and happiness. If riding motorcycles is going to bring her daughter joy, then she will continue to give that pleasantry to her little girl.
