Nurses and doctors were dumbfounded when they walked in on a mom biting her newborn son in a “cannibalistic act.”
Just days after her son’s birth, the 24-year-old mother was found biting into her infant’s arm. The nurse who discovered the horrible reality tried to pry the mother’s teeth off the child but mom resisted. That’s when a team of doctors entered and forcibly removed mom’s incisors from the baby’s arm.
After doctors were able to forcibly stop the young mother from eating her newborn son, they sedated her and took the baby away to safety.
Allegedly, the mother was found pregnant on the street and taken in to the hospital. Just days after she finally gave birth, the new mother decided to have her infant son for a meal.
She bit the baby hard enough to make his hand and arm bleed.
“It was really shocking, the arm was badly damaged and suffered not only heavy bruising but bleeding as a result of the bite,” said a hospital spokesperson, according to The Daily Mirror. “Fortunately, doctors managed to insert something to stop her closing her teeth and then levered her jaws apart. After that they gave her a sedative and took the baby to a secure location.”
The mother is suspected of having mental health problems. And the hospital is still investigating the incident and seeing what they can do to keep the baby safe and help the mother get better.
