To commemorate the arrival of Allied forces on the beaches of Normandy so many years ago, two English artists created a touching sand sculpture memorial. D-Day occurred on June 6th, 1944. When the troops landed on those beaches, it marked the beginning of the end for the Nazis. It was an important day in history, but lives were lost on each side.

Artists Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss, along with many volunteers, worked to sketch figures into the sand. They were tracing outlines of soldiers, all in memory of those who fell on D-Day.

Its good to remember our family members who fought so bravely to defend us. Even if you don’t know of anyone who fought in the second World War, it is still good to honor those soldiers who did fight. Share this article – help honor their memory.
