English Mastiff Sampson might look like a big touch dog, but when he gets in the water he turns into a big softie. His owners are trying to teach him to swim, but he’s just clamping on to his teacher for dear life! Eventually Sampson starts dog paddling, but he heads straight for dry land!
Experts say that it’s safe to teach an older dog to swim, but they stress that it’s important to never leave an untrained dog unattended in the water. This owner did the right thing by staying close – if the dog were to struggle with swimming he could quickly intervene.
