When it comes to life hacks, I’m constantly kicking myself and wondering “Why didn’t think of that?!”

Easy fixes like this tutorial for making your own cleaning wipes can save us a lot of money, but at the end of the day, it’s not a shockingly original idea. This next cleaning trick, on the other hand, is so random that I could have never, ever thought of this on my own.

Whenever I hear WD-40, I think of using it on my bicycle chain or skateboard wheels as a kid. Sure, this multi-purpose water-displacing and oil-penetrating spray can be used for a ton of things, just like vinegar, lemon, and even shaving cream (who knew?), but I didn’t expect cleaning various home items to be one of them.

In the following clip from YouTube channel Porch, we learn of four surprising things you can clean with the popular home product, which has been around since the 1950s. The first one makes some sense to me: Use WD-40 on stainless steel to prevent fingerprints. This happens all the time in my house, so I will definitely be trying this out. However, the other three took me by complete surprise.

What will you use this product for? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to SHARE this video on Facebook!
