Simon Cowell doesn’t get impressed by much – he is a notoriously brutal judge and doesn’t hold back when he thinks someone doesn’t have what it takes to make it on America’s Got Talent. So when Calysta Bevier took the stage, her bright soul and great energy immediately caught the judges’ attention. Then she told everyone a little secret about her past….
Calysta explained that she’s a survivor of Stage III Ovarian Cancer and has spent her days in recovery working on her impressive singing voice! She definitely knows that life is a blessing. Simon knew right away that there was something special about Calysta – he listened intently as she sang “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten, just like an angel. Her voice, demeanor and overall look charmed the socks off of the entire audience as well!

After she finished her audition, Simon did something totally unexpected: he reached over and pressed the Golden Buzzer! Calysta is going straight to the live rounds later on this season. We can’t wait to hear more from this talented teenager in the coming months!
