Prepare to watch one of the most emotional ‘overcoming adversity’ stories of British television. Educating Yorkshire was a British documentary which was filmed over 1 school term in 2013 for Channel 4
The documentary was a follow-up to the original series; Educating Essex and aimed to broadcast the everyday escapades of high school students and teachers.
Educating Yorkshire won a National Television Award for ‘Best Factual Entertainment Programme’.
One member of the documentary, Musharaf, definitely stole the show. And in this emotional clip below, you will find out why.
Musharaf suffers from a severe stammer. But thanks to some techniques learnt from ‘The Kings Speech’, English teacher, Mr Burton works tirelessly to help Musharaf get through his oral exam.
The video clip is from the UK show; Gogglebox. The premise of the show focusses on watching everyday folk, from up and down the country, commenting on the weekly television.
Musharaf’s incredible efforts aren’t the only thing that will tug on your heartstrings.
When it comes to the leaver’s assembly, a surprise speech from Musharaf brought me to tears.
If you’re anything like me (and the Gogglebox cast), this clip will definitely bring a tear to your eye.
