One of the toughest things about having food in the house is finding the most applicable methods to keep it fresh.

Take one of the most common staple foods, for example: bread. It can be best kept fresh when it’s put in the freezer. The most effective way to prevent it from staling is to store it immediately after it bakes and cools.

But not all foods can or should go into the freezer for storage. Various kinds of fruit and types of snack foods have a harder time staying completely fresh and delicious, so that’s why it’s important to devise hacks to keep them in tiptop shape.

Our DIY expert Jill Urban can definitely help you sustain the freshness of certain foods — chips, in this particular case. With just one tool and an old, unused hanger, she completely upcycles a household item and gives it a new meaning.

The new “product” that she ends up with not only keeps the chips crunchy and fresh, it can also be reused in the future when other snacks or bagged goods need to be kept fresh.

Watch the video to find out how to very easily keep your chips fresh, and let us know in the comments what you think.
