Two little blessings sent from above, twice the smiles, twice the love. “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If they stumble, the first will lift up his friend—but woe to anyone who is alone when he falls and there is no one to help him get up. Again, if two lie close together, they will keep warm, but how can only one stay warm? If someone attacks one of them, the two of them together will resist. Furthermore, the tri-braided cord is not soon broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
Followers of faith will agree that being parents of twins is a gracious gift from God. God gave twins a special gift: the company of each other. These siblings are mentors, companions, confidants and each other’s best friend. This is the story of two special couples who will remember their big day not because it was day they were joined as Man and Wife, but for another monumental reason.
Eric and Shawn Crow hadn’t a clue when they signed up to volunteer in the local church group that they would meet their future wives in the house of God. Apart from serving those in need, they came across two beautiful women, Keyolla and Teyolla Loux, who were twins just like they were.
Keyolla and Teyolla confess that they were the first to notice Shawn and Eric. It was love at first sight but they were apprehensive whether their feelings for the boys would be reciprocated as Shawn and Eric were much older than them. They left their interest in the Shawn and Eric un-confessed and began to volunteer with other church groups all over the country. The couples lost in touch for almost three years till fate crossed their paths again in Haiti. In a special class conducted to help the victims of Haiti, the couples met again and decided to go on a double date, finally.
What is love without being in the eye of a whirlwind? The love story of these couple was no different. The romance reached its ultimate destination with Shawn popping the question to Teyolla. Eric followed his brother’s steps and went down on one knee for Keyolla. Since the couple met together, they thought it is perfect if they were to tie the knot, together.
The girls, who were adopted into the family of Renee and Derek Loux, even invited their birth mother to witness the holy union with Shawn and Eric. The brides looked radiant in identical strapless gowns. The couples celebrated their big day enveloped in a bubble filled with love, faith and happiness.
