Oh, boy!
An upstate New York mom was left in shock when she welcomed a record-breaking baby boy last month—a supersized newborn nearly twice the size of an average infant.
Parents Terrica and Shawn expected a larger baby, but nothing could have prepared them for the arrival of their son, Shawn Jr., on January 31 at Cayuga Medical Center. He weighed an astonishing 13 pounds, making him the largest baby ever born at the Ithaca hospital, the facility confirmed.
“We knew he’d be bigger, but we didn’t expect this,” said the mom of four.
