An officer from the Orem Police Department in Utah is being praised for lending a helping hand to a father in need at a county court.
Officer Kevin Norris was sitting in the waiting room of the court waiting to testify in a hearing when he saw the dad of a two-year-old with a serious dilemma.
“The father had a court case scheduled and was unable to leave the little girl at home. When it was time for his case to be heard, he tried to take his daughter into court with him. However, kids are not allowed in the court room for various reasons and the girl’s father didn’t know what to do,” the Orem Police Department wrote on Facebook.
Thankfully, Officer Norris stepped in to take care of the stranger’s child, much like the cop in Washington who comforted a 10-month-old baby. Surveillance video shows him walking hand-in-hand with the little girl and eventually putting her on his lap to watch some cartoons on his smartphone. The toddler even became comfortable enough to fall asleep on Officer Norris.
“You can tell that Officer Norris is a father first and police officer second!” the department added along with the footage, which had more than a million views in less than a day.
