Air Force Master Sgt. Heather Michaud knew she would be coming home to her 6-year-old son Trevor. The mom collaborated with Jacksonwald Elementary School in Pennsylvania to surprise her first grader during the school’s annual Thanksgiving giveaway.

Little Trevor is called up on stage and greeted by the principal. He thinks he just won a turkey, but what he doesn’t know is that his Airwoman mama is tiptoeing behind him. She literally taps his soldier before he realizes that she’s there. It reminds me of this soldier surprising his mom at her job at Sam’s Club.

“It was awesome. I snuck up behind him and he had no idea that I was there,” Heather told WFMZ. Heather had been deployed in South Korea and soon she will be stationed in Alabama. Trevor will be going with her where he belongs after living with his grandfather while she was away. The surprise was a great sendoff to mark the new beginning for the family.

“I’m just ready to have my son back,” Heather said. “It’s been a very tough year. I’m excited to be home.” See the moment this homesick mom surprises her little boy below.

Please SHARE to with this family a happy Thanksgiving and thank Heather for her service!
