Potatoes are one of the most versatile foods on the planet because they are so cheap to produce and they can feed so many people. In fact, potatoes are in so many of our foods today that often times we don’t even remember it!
There are many types of potatoes in all different colors, but one of the most popular type is the yam, or sweet potato.
Not only are yams delicious, but there is a way to cook them that will make them melt in your mouth, and all you need is a slow cooker!
Sweet potatoes not only taste good, but are good for you. They have 262% of your daily intake of vitamin A, and 29% of your vitamin C. They are packed with fiber, and will fill you up for cheap!
Usually, people throw these potatoes in the oven, but there is a much better way to cook these in a slow cooker.
Just rinse and wash the exterior of the potatoes, and poke some holes in the skin to relieve some of the pressure that will build up. Don’t dry the potatoes, as the liquid on them will be sufficient for cooking so you don’t need to add more.
Throw the potatoes into the slow cooker for about 6-7 hours on low for 4 potatoes at a time. You can also cook them on high for 3 hours, but they will not be as tender.
After they are done cooking, you will have golden, soft, and steamy sweet potatoes with little to no work required!
Share this recipe with your friends and family so they can try and unlock the full potential of the sweet potato too!
