A daughter of a woman suffering from dementia has come up with a very unique way to help her mother that involves a white board. A nurse shared a photo of the white board on social media, and it quickly went viral, touching the hearts of people all over the world.

The woman shares words of comfort with her mother on the white board every day. Though these words seem like common sense for some, they are vital to someone who is suffering from dementia.

“Words of reassurance left for an elderly lady with dementia by her daughter,” the nurse wrote alongside the photo when she shared it. “A simple white board left in her sight line in her sitting room. Helped to reduce constant anxious phone calls.”

The white board included the following list:

Your meals are paid for.
You’re okay.
Everyone’s fine.
You are not moving.
No one else is moving.
Keep drinking, it will help your memory.
You don’t owe anyone any money.
You haven’t upset anyone.

“Water. Many patients with dementia forget to drink water and are very dehydrated. Being properly hydrated helps the brain work properly,” another social media user added. “It’s the most awful of diseases truly.”

What a thoughtful daughter to come up with such a unique way to help her mother feel more at ease and more in control!
