Take a look inside of your kitchen cabinets. If you’re anything like us, you’ve got a few baking dishes or sheets that are in serious need of a little TLC.
Even the cleanest of cooks have trouble getting those stubborn brown spots leftover from baked-on sprays and greases—it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
That said, it’s also not very attractive, so we were thrilled when we came across a few tricks and tips for getting our entire kitchen arsenal shining like new. Read on to see how you can combine a little elbow grease with a lot of brainpower to outsmart those stubborn stains.
The first trick up our sleeves is simple. Gather together a toothbrush, some aluminum foil, water, baking soda, and some liquid dish soap. Dip the old toothbrush into the soda, and scrub the baking sheet in a circular motion, then allow it to dry for about 20-30 minutes before scrubbing it with aluminum foil. Rinse the grime away and Voila! Clean and shiny pans!
For our next trick, we’d like you to grab some hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and a sturdy scrubbing pad.
Spread the soda out of the sheet, add peroxide, then more soda, then leave to dry for 2 hours. This one doesn’t even take any scrubbing!
If you have any aluminum trays you are looking to spruce up, use the following: water, distilled white vinegar, a cooking pot, and a scrubbing pad. Boil equal parts vinegar and water then allow to cool. Use your scrubbing pad to scour off any stray stains with your homemade cleaning solution.
Last, but not least, we have one trick for those copper pots you may have around. Take some table salt and sprinkle it over your pot before dousing the whole thing with vinegar. Now, add a bit more salt and scrub away. Use these simple cleaning-hacks to bring a next-level clean to your kitchen. No more hiding “those” pots and pans in the back anymore!
