Catherine Svilicic had just adopted an abused and neglected Doberman named Khan. She brought him home and introduced him to Charlotte, her 17-month-old daughter.
The two hit it off and got along immediately, but what was about to happen is just unbelievable.
They were outside playing one day when the Doberman grabbed the child and tossed her across the yard.
The girl’s mother was terrified–until she realized what was going on. Khan saw a snake heading toward Charlotte and did what he could to try and save her.
Khan got her out of the way just in time as he was bitten by the snake just seconds later. He was rushed to the vet where he received an anti-venom shot and was able to fully recover.
If it weren’t for the dog’s heroics, the little girl surely would’ve been on the receiving end of that bite. Just four days into life with his new family and he repaid them in the most amazing way.
This just proves that formerly abused and abandoned dogs can be as trustworthy and loyal to their families as any other dog. Khan is a hero, and they won’t forget that anytime soon.
