“She’s putting in tremendous effort, but her muscle control is compromised. What’s truly heartbreaking is that she’s always been so disciplined,” Claudette lamented to the publication. “She’s always been diligent in her work. Our mother instilled in her the value of doing things properly.”
Stiff-Person Syndrome, as explained by the National Health Institute, disrupts the brain’s communication pathways to the muscles, causing them to become rigid and inflexible. Alongside muscle stiffness and spasms, symptoms may include an increased risk of falling and difficulties with breathing.
