The ad for Advantage Humans, entitled “Courage,” may be short and simple — but it does its job fantastically. We meet a high school student who pulls up to the home of his prom date. It’s endearing to see how nervous he is to see the girl who has clearly got him smitten, and it’s a sentiment with which so many of us can relate. As he gathers the courage to walk up to the door and ring the doorbell, viewers anxiously await their meeting and envision their night of dancing, laughing, and stolen kisses. But moments later, the camera reveals a surprise. It isn’t the nervous teenage boy who is most courageous on prom night, but rather his amazing date.
Advantage Humans says, “We’re only human. We rely on our courage. The kind of courage that shows up when we need it… and when cancer is least expecting it.”
