Here’s Why You Should Always Remove The Screws From Your Apartment Door Before Moving In. WARNING…

Texas realtor Mariana Harrison is a daddy’s girl. And she’s thankful she listen to him every day of her life. Why? Because one piece of advice he gave her years ago is paying off big time.

When she decided to share the same information publicly on Facebook, she revealed just how vulnerable most apartment dwellers are. Now the internet is thanking Harrison for her warning.

See what’s wrong with your entry door below!

“My dad gave me this advice a long time ago when I moved into my first apartment,” Harrison wrote in the viral post. “He even came out and changed the screws for me as soon as I moved in.”

So what did Harrison’s dad do? He took out the small ½ inch screws from her door plate and add in big 4-inch ones.

In this case a burglar or rapist wouldn’t be able to knock in his daughter’s door quite so easily.

Harrison described why this is a problem and how you’re probably at risk…

“Most contractors install the (door) plates with the supplied screws which are only a half inch long and come out with one kick by a burglary. (My dad) installed 4 inch screws in their place that go through the door frame and into the framing of the house. They can kick for a long time before they get tired!”

Go check your doors when you’ve got some time this weekend. This is an easy fix and could protect your property and keep your family safe from danger.

“Making a burglar make a bunch of noise and be foiled in their initial plan can not only give you time to arm yourself but they will most likely move on to an easier target,” Harrison wrote on Facebook.
