For those of us who grew up in the late 80s and early 90s, Disney VHS tapes were pretty much a household staple.
There was nothing better than popping in your favorite Disney moment at the end of a long week and watching that famous castle light up the screen—that is, if your sister remembered to rewind the VHS, which she probably didn’t.
Of course we all had to get The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, andHercules the moment they came out on VHS. And some of us were even lucky enough to score a few classics when they were re-released.
But along with the changing times came DVDs, and before we knew it, those Disney VHS tapes were just collecting dust in the attic if your parents didn’t already throw them away.
Well, good news for anybody still holding on to those seemingly ancient tapes: they might actually be worth something now!
According to Moviepilot, here are a few Disney movies you might be able to sell online:
Peter Pan… $50 – $200
The Lion King…. $75 – $200
101 Dalmatians… $100 – $200
Aladdin… $150 – $500
Snow White… $250 – $600
Cinderella… $200 – $1,000
But don’t go creating a new Ebay account just yet. The Disney VHS tapes that collectors really want are the ones with the “Black Diamond Classic” label inside the cover.
Currently, the most valuable Disney VHS tape to date is an unopened, sealed version of Beauty and the Beast.
How much is it selling for? According to Wimp, the starting bid on Ebay is $25,000!
