Back in 2009, Hollywood megastar Salma Hayek – famous for her roles in Frida and Wild Wild West – visited the war-torn nation of Sierra Leone, Africa. The country was in the midst of a civil war, and Hayek came to see what she could do to help. There, she met a woman who was unable to feed her starving child. What she does next will completely shock you.
When Hayek saw this poor baby, her motherly instincts immediately grabbed hold of her. Without any hesitation or doubt, the 42-year-old movie star began to feed the baby, completely ignoring the TV cameras and potential media stories that followed her. It’s not every day that you see an A-list celebrity perform such a compassionate and intimate act.
The mother happened to lack milk and could not nourish the baby in that regard. At the time, Hayek had a 1-year-old daughter named Valentina, and because she was still weaning her baby, she decided to breastfeed the baby herself. Incredible!
Naturally, because of Hayek’s popularity and presence, the video below has received mixed reviews. Some people have criticized Hayek for what she did, but most people flooded the video with comments of positive praise, hope, and inspiration.

Hayek also was not sure how her baby Valentina would respond to such an act, but after thinking about it some more, she realized that Valentina would be proud of her!
