Woman saves dog left on side of road. Her post to the “dirtbag” who left him is going viral

It’s truly horrifying to see the way humans can abuse the love that our pets give to us, and Michigan based Dion and Danielle Cole saw first-hand how terrible people can be towards their animals when Dion saw a man throw out a dog out of a pickup truck and leave him without looking back. The traumatic nature of the incident forced him to return to the spot shortly after to find the dog.

While they knew the dog was still in the area, he was immediately terrified of anyone that would try to get near him, and it took a few days and some friends to help gain his trust. The dog seemed incredibly loyal to his previous owner, even after being left behind; he would wait there in the exact spot he was left behind every evening in the hopes that the truck would be back to come get him.

Eventually, they managed to gain his trust and get the dog into their car, with the help of some hunters and a young boy. In an emotionally charged Facebook post, Danielle describes both the loyalty and pain the dog faced after being released into the wild and left to fend for himself. Danielle addresses the previous owner by letting them know that “[their] dog chased after you and ran has fast as his little legs would let him until his legs gave out and collapsed on the side of the road.” Despite being afraid and alone, the dog held out hope that his owner would come back home in the evenings as “he was right where you left him waiting for you to come back.”

The dog is currently staying at their home, happy and enjoying life with his new owners. Unfortunately, they can only foster him until he finds a more stable home, but Danielle has noted that he does well with children and is great at home. She finally ends her Facebook post by noting that karma will come back to get him one day- “you a real scumbag and you will answer to what you did one day.”

While we can’t say for sure whether or not the man will ever be found and tried for abandoning his pet, but one thing is for sure- the adorable pup is much happier and much more loved in his new home!

“To the dirt bag that threw his dog out in the Allegan forest on 48th street Friday at about 3:30pm. Let me tell you what your dog went through, as you sped off your dog chased after you and ran has fast as his little legs would let him until his legs gave out and collapsed on the side of the road. My husband seen this all happen he stopped to help your dog but the little guys was so scared that he ran into the forest and hid. Later that evening we went to look for your dog he was right where you left him waiting for you to come back, once again he ran scared for his life. Saturday morning I took some treats and my dog in hopes that he would feel comfortable enough to come up to my dog. Well he was thinking about but then someone else stopped to help and he ran back into the forest. A couple hours later we were heading to the fair and I just couldn’t stop thinking about this poor little guy who was thrown from a car, lost, and confused so I decided I would take a bowl of food to him and leave it where he has been hanging out. Once I turned into 48th st there was a group of hunters, a nice family, and an older man trying to catch your dog. He was terrified but with patients and the help of a sweet little boy we were able to catch him. How could you throw your dog out like a piece of trash? This handsome little guy is so sweet and loving, he loves my kids especially my son, he likes my other dogs. I truly belive my husband was suppose to be running late that day so that he was able to see what you did. It’s just to bad he couldn’t get your plate number.
