The bathroom is probably the least favorite room in the house to scrub, but it’s also the most important area to keep clean, otherwise some seriously gross bacteria will set up camp in the room.

Cleaning the sink isn’t so bad and other than having to bend over, scrubbing the shower is doable as well. The toilet, on the other hand, is the absolute worst area to clean, but have no fear, with these awesome DIY cleaning bombs, you’ll never have to scrub a toilet again.

Simply toss in the bowl and let the fizzing bubbles take care of the work!

What You’ll Need:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup corn starch
  • 25 drops of essential oil (citrus is ideal)
  • A spray bottle filled with water
  • A mold
  • Gallon sized ziplock bag
  • Ziplock baggies

What You’ll Do:

1) In the gallon sized ziplock bag, combine all of the dry ingredients and shake the bag until nicely mixed.

2) Spritz the ingredients 2-3 times using the spray bottle, then continue kneading the ingredients.

3) Repeat step 2 until the mixture forms a dough-like consistency.

4) Add 25 drops of essential oil to the mixture. You’re welcome to use any fragrance, but keep in mind that citrus oil has wonderful cleaning properties!

5) Pack the mixture into the molds. Be sure to press firmly.

6) Allow the mold to sit out for a couple of days until completely dry and hardened.

7) Remove cleaning bombs from the mold and allow them two more days to dry.

8) Store them in the small ziplock bags until ready to use.

When you’re ready to use the cleaning bombs, drop one into the toilet bowl and walk away.
